Ceylon Blue Hues operates as a US-HEADQUARTERED organization with significant historical ties to SRI LANKA, having established itself as a prominent player in the GEMSTONE TRADE.

Our foundation was built on relationships with SMALL-SCALE MINERS operating in rural areas of Sri Lanka. We subsequently diversified our sourcing to include ARTISANAL SMALL MINERS from numerous locations across the island nation.

We now partner with over 400 SMALL-SCALE MINING ENTERPRISES throughout Sri Lanka. The PRIMARY STAKEHOLDERS benefiting from Ceylon Blue Hues are the small-scale rural mining communities. Each colored stone purchased from us ensures that these miners receive a proportionate and FAIR PAYMENT for their hard work and MINING EXPERTISE.

Our Heritage

Sri Lanka has MAINTAINED its two-thousand-year-old TRADITION of gemstone mining by PROHIBITING large-scale mechanized operations, instead prioritizing the PRESERVATION of small-scale artisanal mining techniques.

This strategy not only creates more job opportunities for local communities but also guarantees the SUSTAINABILITY of gemstone resources for future extraction.

Furthermore, Sri Lanka has led the way in improving the visual quality of rubies and sapphires through HEAT TREATMENT, an artisanal science recorded since the 13th century.

Sri Lanka-sourced rough sapphires represent stones from one of the planet's most DISTINGUISHED regions for sapphire color VARIETY and ABUNDANCE.

Prior to the cutting and imaginative craftsmanship that will eventually animate these gems within jewelry designs, every stone already exhibits its own SINGULAR CHARACTER and NATURAL ALLURE.

“Our objective is to position Ceylon blue sapphires—acknowledged worldwide for their exceptional rarity and distinctive color—in the marketplace at equitable pricing that remains competitive with other North American vendors.

Guided by our fundamental values and commitment to ensuring that colored gemstones deliver substantial benefits to the communities and mining populations from which they are sourced.”

Preserving the Heritage of Gemstones

Gemstones have been CULTURALLY SIGNIFICANT throughout diverse civilizations since ancient times, fulfilling roles in trade, personal adornment, and SYMBOLIC MEANING. In modern society, their intrinsic heritage is frequently overlooked in favor of purely commercial speculation.

At the same time, many gemstone mining regions encounter unsustainable practices. We advocate for ETHICAL STEWARDSHIP, protecting natural riverbeds and supporting artisanal lapidaries.
